DEBORAH “DEBRA” BUSACCO has dedicated nearly four decades to the New York City Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), where she started in 1984 and climbed to the role of Administrative Manager.
In 2008, Deborah received the prestigious honor of being HPD’s Breakfast for Champions Honoree for her outstanding service.
Since 2010, Deborah has been a key figure as an Asset Manager in Asset & Property Management (APM) ensuring the preservation of housing assets in NYC.
Deborah has been a Shop Steward since 2019, advocating for workers’ rights, and has served as Co-Chair of the Local 1180 Women’s Committee since 2021.
Deborah has been an active member of the Red Carpet for Social Justice since 2019; a board member of Wayside Development, Inc. since 2019, contributing to community development initiatives for seniors; a member of the El Barrio Democratic Club since 2020; and Democratic County Committee member since 2022. From 2021 to 2022, she served as the Corresponding Secretary for the NYC Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) chapter, promoting gender equality and workers’ rights. In 2023, Deborah was elected as an Alternate Judicial Delegate of the 68th Assembly District.
She graduated from the College of New Rochelle in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
